My name is Sarah Campbell and I have worked as a copyeditor, typesetter and editorial manager in London for over ten years. I am a Professional Member of the CIEP, the UK’s professional body for editors and proofreaders, as well as ACES, the leading organisation of editing professionals in the US .

While I have worked on subjects ranging from risk management to public policy and transport, my background is in Middle Eastern studies. I have a degree from the University of Otago in New Zealand, and I have studied Arabic at SOAS in London and the Lebanese American University in Beirut.

I specialise in copyediting and proofreading books and articles (and any other words!) on the Middle East and Arab world. I am especially keen to collaborate with small publishers based in the Middle East.

I decided to take the leap into freelance in the aftermath of the Corona lockdown, hoping to work more on subjects I love and also have the flexibility to continue to improve my Arabic.
